Alex Delgado is a Mexican-American mezzo-soprano and voice teacher. Their recent performances include covering Lola in Cavalleria rusticana with Opera San José and performing Elle in Poulenc’s La voix humaine with SJSU Opera.
As a queer artist, Alex is passionate about creating performing arts spaces where people can see themselves represented
and experience performance without feeling that it is reserved for a particular kind of person. They recently founded Offstage Opera Collective, an emerging project focused on bringing live opera into unexpected and accessible spaces.
Through their work as a performer, educator, and creator, Alex is committed to making the performing arts more welcoming, accessible, and inclusive for both artists and audiences.
